[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Rod is one of the founding pastors of the Village Church. He is a storyteller, poet, humorist, and the resident Village ‘word nazi’. He loves to pray and preach and talk to people who don’t know Jesus. When not sitting in a restaurant encouraging someone or in the ‘prayer tub’ praying, he is likely to be found flopped out on the couch watching basketball or the news. He loves to cook without recipes, write about anything, and play Scrabble on his iPhone.

Rod works half time as a pastor and elder of the Village and spends the other half of his time raising up, encouraging, and discipling church planters and serving the Christian Reformed Church in a variety of ways.

He has been married to his wife, Kathy, who is a wound care nurse at the Veteran’s hospital and a loving mom, for forty three years and loves their Saturday ‘date days’. They have two sons, Justin and Derek, and two ‘godgranddaughters’, Terra and Jolie, who bring much delight to their lives. Rod also delights in being a surrogate grandfather and dad to numerous Villagers.
