As believers in Jesus, we are all called to be ministers submitted to the Gospel. Our role is to invite others into this ministry by ongoing example and expression of our humble acceptance of Jesus’s grace. Only then will we gather as a discipling community where we mutually encourage one another into the ministry of reconciliation.
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (NIV)
We will be exploring this ministry in terms of relational, rather than hierarchical, ways of discipling one another and authentically forming community around the Gospel.
We would like to envision together how this might look in our diverse communities and what transformations may be brought into the broader community of believers and pre-believers.
